We launched a funding platform!
Whotune has launched a fan-funding platform designed exclusively to assist musicians in reaching their goals.
Unlike other fan-funding platforms, Whotune's is designed specifically with musicians in mind and hosted on a music-focused website. Musicians can interact with fans on the site, including playing exclusive streaming online performances through Live Stage, to help increase donations. Additionally, fans discovering new artists on Whotune can donate to their projects or buy their music all in the same place.
"The beauty of the Whotune Fan Funding Platform is that artists have many other tools and features they can access to help promote their funding project right here on the site," said Whotune CEO Karl George. "So the project can be promoted everywhere on the site and also shared via Facebook, Twitter and other social networks."
With Whotune's Fan Funding Platform, artists upload a video pitch to Whotune.com, explaining what project they are trying to complete and how, as well as how much money they'll need to complete it; and set a reward system for donations, ranging from a "thank you" for $5 to a private show for $1,000. The artists set these rewards themselves. If the project meets its target within a timeframe specified by the artist, donations are collected; if the project fails to get funded completely, no donations are collected.
Fans and donors can search for projects via a number of parameters and have results displayed in a number of ways, like newest, oldest, most funded, least funded, etc. Fans can leave comments to encourage artists, which can then be shared on social networking sites as well, really bringing the fans into the process.
Whotune is the one stop for the new music industry, helping artists interact with fans from around the world and helping fans find and talk about new music through a music service platform that provides the most compelling features, tools and initiatives all in one place. From the garage to the World Stage, Whotune is a new music service company for the new music industry.
